Although it was only launched in May of this year, the Japanese developer and Capcom have revealed today that RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE, which is the eighth main delivery of the long-term survival terror franchise, has now sold more than five million units in total. This means that the game, which is a sequel to RESIDENT EVIL 7: Biological risk, has proven to be a great success for the company and all that ensures that the series will continue.
In total, Capcom specifically announced today that RESIDENT Evil Village has exceeded 5 million copies sent. This means that these units have not been sold directly to customers, but have simply been sent to retailers (or they have been sold through digital shop windows) around the world. However, since Capcom wins your money directly from sales to retailers, this is the total in which the editor is more focused.
The amazing of this total in general is the speed with which it has occurred. Although the Resident Evil franchise has always been incredibly popular, see Resident Evil Village becoming one of the best-selling entries in the series at a lapse of less than five months is quite impressive. In fact, CAPCOM specifically indicates that pueblo is already being sold at a higher rate than any other previous entry.
Using the patented engine of the company, which made possible a simultaneous launch in the new and current generation of consoles, the game captivated the players with a spectacular game experience with impressive and photorealistic images and avant-garde audio, he said Capcom in his mail announcing the sales milestone today. This led to global shipments of the game to exceed 5 million units at a faster pace than its previous entry in the series».
As mentioned, by combining RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE sales with the 10 million units that Resident Evil 7 sold before, he tells us that Capcom is already working on what will be the ninth main title of Resident Evil. And although it can take us a few years to see that this game arises, it is almost certain that it will arrive in a short time.
